Cave bear skeleton

The cave bear lived in the Alps as a harmless herbivore until shortly before the last ice age. Wilhelm Amrein-Küpfer, son of the founding couple of the Glacier Garden and fanatical prehistoric researcher, found bones of this extinct animal in the Steigelfadbalm cave on the Rigi. However, the skeleton on display in the museum comes from various animals whose bones were found in the Mixnitz dragon cave near Graz in Austria.
