The generation ticket makes it possible

With the intergenerational ticket, the family outing is twice as worthwhile: two adults - whether parents, grandparents or other accompanying persons - visit the Glacier Garden with up to five children for CHF 60. If only one adult comes along, the ticket costs CHF 45.

Is the Glacier Garden suitable for a family outing?

Yes, the Glacier Garden Lucerne offers families a varied mix of nature, history and adventure. Thanks to the mirror labyrinth, the extensive alpine park and the "Lily & Börni " search game , entertainment is guaranteed - whatever the weather.

Is the search game "Lily & Börni" free of charge?

No, for the search game you need a participation ticket (CHF 2.00) and a discovery card (CHF 2.00). You will receive both at the cash desk.

What is the Generation Ticket?

With the Generation Ticket, families benefit from discounted admission to the Glacier Garden. More information about the Generation Ticket can be found here.

What does "Generations" mean? Can I also use the Generation Ticket with a friend or my brother?

Yes, because it's not the relationship that counts, but the companion. This means that the adult accompanying the Generation Ticket can be a parent, partner, grandmother, brother or friend.

How many children can I take with me on the Generation Ticket?

The Generation Ticket includes a maximum of 5 children. The sixth child pays the regular admission price for children (CHF 12).

How much does regular admission cost for children?

Children between the ages of 6 and 16 pay CHF 12, but depending on the size of the group, a generational ticket may be worthwhile.

My child is 16 years old. Does he or she still benefit from the children's discount?

No, the price for children expires when they reach the age of 15. The adult rate (CHF 24) applies from the age of 16. Apprentices and students continue to benefit from reduced admission (CHF 18).

How long is the ticket valid for?

The ticket is valid for1 year from the date of purchase.

Are there any benefits?

Yes, apprentices, students and people with an AHV/IV card pay CHF 18 admission. With the following passes & membership cards you even get free admission to the Glacier Garden:

Is there a playground or activities for children in the Glacier Garden?

There is no classic playground, but there are plenty of child-friendly activities: The mirror labyrinth, the observation tower and various interactive stations encourage discovery. The search game "Lily & Börni" is particularly popular , where children can playfully explore the glacier garden.

How long does a visit to the Glacier Garden with children take?

For families, we recommend a visit of 1.5 to 2 hours. Depending on the interest and age of the children, the visit can also be longer. If you need a break, the on-site bistro offers a cozy refreshment area with food and drink.

Are there child and family-friendly offers in the bistro?

Yes, the bistro in the Gletschergarten also offers family-friendly food and drinks - e.g. hot chocolate with whipped cream and marshmallows, homemade chicken nuggets or the family hot dog offer (2 Gletschergarten hot dogs, 2 children's hot dogs incl. 1 liter of glacier iced tea).

Can I take a picnic with me?

Yes, picnicking is permitted in selected areas of the Glacier Garden, e.g. on the terrace of the Schweizerhaus or on the Sommerau.You can find an overviewhere.

Is there somewhere I can leave the baby carriage or my luggage?

Yes, there are lockers for luggage and a storage area for baby carriagesin the Glacier Garden. Please note that not all exhibition areas are accessible with a baby carriage.

Can I go to the Glacier Garden with a baby carriage?

Partially. The Glacier Garden is not fully accessible with a baby carriage. Some areas such as the observation tower or the Alpine Park are not accessible. However, baby carriages can be left behind the ticket office or next to the Schweizerhaus.
