Understanding wild boars - mastering challenges

This lecture shows you how wild boars live, learn and adapt to our environment - and provides you with concrete strategies to help you better assess and effectively counter challenges. Experience a surprising look behind the scenes of an animal species that has a greater impact on our everyday lives than we often think - and discover practical solutions for a less conflictual coexistence.

Wild boars have accompanied humans since time immemorial. Pigs are valued as food and livestock, but conflicts arise as soon as wild boars touch our demands. Their family life, their communication, their designed habitat as well as their intelligence and adaptability are fascinating - a comparison with our own behavior often comes to mind. At the same time, their defensiveness demands respect. However, their life in our human-dominated environment costs money, nerves and understanding. Effective solutions for dealing with this impressive animal species therefore remain a challenging task.

Speaker: Thomas Stucki

Head of Sect. Hunting and Fishing Canton Aargau
